KFC Gaming: The Colonel is ready to play
Publicis Media Sport and Entertainment, Blue 449 and Kairos Media have teamed up to help KFC officially enter the world of esports and gaming in the UK. The aim is to celebrate the everyday gamer and give all a platform to engage with – from casual players all the way up to the competitive elite.
Launching in October 2018 with the creation of new KFC gaming social channels, KFC ‘care packages’ have recently been distributed to targeted influencers, with the next step a Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 tournament in early 2019 – with £50,000 up for grabs.

The campaign has been live for one month as of November 2018, and the initial results are already strong:
- Over 500k views of the launch video on Twitter in its opening week, as well as 140k engagements and 1.6m impressions
- Delivered a total of 8.5m impressions and 310k engagements across launch week
- The KFC gaming Twitter handle provided an increase of 26% to KFC’s UK and Ireland following in its very first week.
